CAMILE O'BRIANT, how photography has shaped us
Camile is a photographer and visual artist based in Corsicana. Throughout her career, she has never stopped pondering the impact of photography on us as individuals and evolving societies — for better or worse. In a world now drowning in images, can we still connect to them in a personal way?  camileobriantphoto.com

HELEN MARTIN, too exotic
Helen, a renowned high fashion model, graced the runways of numerous designer shows, including Balenciaga, Marc Bohan for Christian Dior, Oscar De La Renta, Neiman Marcus's Import show, Donna Karan, Valentino, and Givenchy, among others. Agent Kim Dawson consistently advised new models to stu-dy Helen's work, with her runway technique earning the label "Helen Martin Walk." In her Conversas, Helen takes us behind the scenes of the fashion world, providing exclusive insights and sharing captivating moments from her illustrious modelling career.

PATRICIO RIVERA, go outside
Growing up in the lush, fertile surroundings of Honduras, Rivera spent his time outdoors engulfed in nature and by the ocean. Nature was his playground and its beauty and power has since influenced Rivera’s life in various and meaningful ways. He believes that the increasing levels of depression are closely linked to our detachment from nature and are food for thought. Patricio emphasizes the importance of not only getting out into nature, but advocates for a more profound step — growing beyond yourself. What are you doing to rise above yourself?  bypatriciorivera.com

Sabrina Basten developed Conversas Berlin to grow an appreciation for the diversity of human perspectives, a result of the ever-evolving synthesis of experiences. Sabrina’s sculptural works delve into the archetype of the woman warrior with a multi-layered practice. Through 'Curved Knowledge,' blending personal experience and scientific insight, she infuses storytelling with a visually intricate language. The ceramic warriors born from this process embody a duality of fragile porcelain and powerful gesture, drawing life from conversations with her environment. Sabrina’s practice seamlessly unites physical objects, storytelling, and spatial interaction, emphasizing an holistic approach to interweaving narratives and physical processes, seeking to materialize memories and stories.

Over the years, Sabrina’s strengths have blossomed in associative thinking, event organization, and translating stories into visuals and objects.  Founder of Conversas Berlin, Sabrina cultivates a welcoming, productive space for story-sharing. This experience underscores her understanding of how connecting seemingly unrelated passions and topics offers the possibility of rearranging, breaking and elevating standard, everyday communication.

The ultimate belief of Conversas is that every single human being in this world has something beautiful to share. Conversas ensure a safe space created for the three guest speakers and audience to feel comfortable engaging with each other and to ask questions at any time during each 30-minute presentation. Conversas is open to people of any age, culture, political or religious background, and does not tolerate, in any way, racism nor gender discrimination.
