Explore the entire animation pipeline, from concept development to post-production, in this workshop with experienced facilitator and current artist-in-residence Carlos Zerpa from Caracas, Venezuela. About the facilitator:
Carlos Zerpa is a current artist-in-residence at 100 West, a transmedia storyteller proudly based in Caracas, Venezuela. Mobilized by social issues in South America and the Caribbean, his work seeks to empower underrepresented characters through transgressive, insightful, and irreverent stories. He has written and directed ten animated shorts which have screened internationally. Alumni of Locarno Open Doors, Berlinale Talents, the Global Cultural Relationships Platform, and others. Fellow of the artist residencies Corsicana, Marble House, Bemis Center, pIAR, Saari, Villa Strauli, La Maison des Auteurs, and Sacatar. website
About the poet:
Alysia Nicole Harris is a poet, linguist, community advocate, and teaching artist. Cave Canem fellow, her work was twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and won the Stephen Dunn Poetry Prize in 2014 and 2015. She has performed spoken word poetry in Germany, Canada, Slovakia, South Africa, the UK, and the United Nations. She has served as Director of Public Programs at Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency. Her writing can be found in Best American Poets, Indiana Review, The Offing, Solstice Literary Magazine, and Scalawag Magazine among others. website
