A 1912 Arts & Crafts home for 100 West resident alumni and independents to pursue self-directed retreats in quiet focus, in close proximity to 100 West, the Storefront and historic downtown Corsicana.
This carefully restored, 2,300 square-foot, two-story house offers a spread of calm workspaces: a living room, library, baby grand piano room, breakfast room, wrap-around porch, full kitchen, and laundry room with machine washer & dryer, and wireless internet. Three bedrooms on the second-floor include a desk, full-size bed, closet, and private bathrooms with sink, toilet and shower accessed from the hallway. Central air-conditioning for cooling and heating, the five inactive fireplaces remain inoperable. The accommodations are not ADA accessible. All bedding, linens and kitchen appliances are provided. The house is professionally cleaned bi-weekly.
The Writers House opened in late 2022 following three years of significant restoration and furnishing by co-founding artist Nancy Rebal, essayist David Searcy, and Jean Searcy. It is located ten blocks from 100 West, in the historic Carriage District (1840s – 1930s), neighboring homes of residency founders and supporters.

Guests are encouraged to bring or rent a car. The Residency is not generally available to give rides to and from Dallas, nor in town for errands like groceries.
Guests without a car can schedule a ride to and from the airport by our private ride service. 1 drive to or from Dallas Love Field or DFW International airports is $120.
