Kyle Hobratschk is a painter, furniture maker and printmaker. His engagement with Corsicana began in 2012, purchasing the 1890s Odd Fellows Lodge downtown to restore its former meeting halls into studio and domestic space under the name 100 West, furnished with pieces he designs and constructs in the ground floor wood shop. Kyle developed the international residency at 100 West in 2015 with support from a small collective of artists and writers, and founded its nonprofit, the Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency in 2018, which has expanded from the 100 West building into a collection of historic sites and programming initiatives.
In his Corsicana studio Kyle pursues drafting and book illustration in combination with furniture construction across the street on 100W’s ground floor. In 2020 he opened Anteroom, a window-front exhibition space in front of his studio to disseminate residents’ work and fine craftsmanship.
